The Quest For Large Size Women's Shoes
If you wear a size 10 or larger shoe, you have probably experienced challenges in finding styles that will fit your feet. Shoe stores will often carry a very limited supply of large size women shoes, and often styles need to be special ordered. Department stores generally don't carry sizes larger than 11. However, retailers are slowly coming to the realization that women's feet are getting bigger. Soon, the quest for large size women shoes may be a distant memory.
In the past, shoe buyers were reluctant to buy big inventories of larger shoe sizes. This made sense as the average woman wore a size 6 or 7. Women with larger feet were forced to choose from a few unflattering styles if there was any availability at all.
These days, large size women shoes sell quickly. The most commonly purchased size is now an 8 1/2, and over 30 percent of women are buying shoes in a size 9 or above. Because of the demand, retailers are scrambling to fill their racks with shoes sized up to 14.
Along with the retailers, shoe manufacturers are paying attention to the growing size of women's feet. High-end shoe designers, such as Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik are creating their styles in sizes up to 12, and sometimes higher.
The online retailers have taken this trend to a new level by developing virtual stores that solely cater to large size shoes. A woman can now choose from hundreds of styles that are readily available in her size. Along with being able to shop from the comfort of home, many of these online retailers offer top notch customer service, free shipping, and lower prices than those at traditional stores.
This new availability is certainly a welcome relief for every woman who has struggled to find a pair of flattering, large size shoes. While once the selection of sizes 9 through 14 was a few orthopedic looking styles on a shoe rack in a department store, now the choices are plenty.
The development of the large shoe market seems to grow every day. Retailers and manufacturers know that there is money to be made in big shoes, and they will be increasing the number of styles available because of demand. So, the quest for large size shoes may soon be over, and women with big feet will be the winners in this fashion battle.

I’m planning on learning skateboarding once I start college this fall. For the most part, I have a good idea of what I want as far as it goes for obviously necessary products like decks, trucks, wheels, bearings, etc. But I’m really unsure about shoes.
I’m a girl, and many people have told me that it’s a better idea for girls to choose skate shoes made for guys because they’re more comfortable and more durable while girl’s are generally made for style. Aside from this, it seems like most of the girl brands are brands that I’m really not interested in (like etnies, DC, VANS…). I wear a size 6 (sometimes 6 and a half) in womens shoes, which would be a 4 in mens. But they don’t have a 4 in mens… At that point, it goes down to kids sizes. So, I’ve considered getting kids shoes because they’re also lower in price, but I’m unsure if the durability would be even more lacking.
I could get a 5 in mens, but I’m not sure if that would end up being really big. So, does anyone know if skate shoes tend to run big or small? Particularly brands like fallen, c1rca, lakai…
Basically, any suggestions you have in skating and shoes, I’m totally open for. Thanks a ton.

/ May 8, 2010if you want shoes espcially designed for boxing then a catolouge is how you will have to order which makes it dificult to know what size to get. if you order from a catolouge then you need to speek with your trainer about what shoe size to get.
I would suggest that instead you get Samba made by Addidas which are great sneakers. they are good for boxing, you can try them on in any sneaker store, and they are cheaper. I got mine for $45

Over here in Germany, we have such “X-ray”-machines, where you stick your feet into and they can determine, which size you need !!! But, I am sure…even without such “equipment”, you’ll be able to get the right pair, which will fit you well!!

/ May 23, 2011I think that a child’s size three is an adult size five. I also wear a size five in shoes. I tried on Uggs in size six, but they were to big so I went with a size five, and it fit fine. I think you will be fine buying a size five in adult shoes. Or you could go to a store like The Walking Company, and they could help you find your size.

Believe what you want. A friend of mine has a size 6 foot and she cannot wear children’s Uggs. They state that their sizing goes up to a 7 but this is simply not realistic. Measure your foot if you have any confusion. Then check the website (www.uggaustralia.com) to clarify further. You can even go as far as to try a pair on for size. It’s a novel idea, I know.

/ July 21, 2011They are whole sizes. I would go with the 6. The kids version runs a bit short, so you don’t want to go down a size like you would in adult Uggs. If it is sneakers (Nike, Puma, etc) they wear the 7.5 in, I would get the 5. so size 7/7.5 get the 5, size 7.5/8 get the 6 kids.
Kids sizes are the same as men’s sizes, so when comparing to women’s sizes, you subtract 2. a women’s 6 equals a kids 4; women’s 7 equals size 5.
Sorry if that seems complicated! It is so hard comparing kids sizes to adults since the same brand doesn’t always fit the same. Adult Uggs are super big (like you would get a 6 for your friend in adult uggs), but kids uggs are not like that.

/ July 21, 2011ha! i just bought the kids uggs today in chocolate brown. i wear a 6 in womens. the size 4 in kids is the correct size for me as uggs tend to run big. if you do end up getting the women’s sizes, you will wear a 5, again to accomodate for the larger size. they will recommend that you don’t wear socks, but that is foolish. your feet sweat even in winter and if you don’t wear socks, the uggs begin to stink. wear a thinner sock than your typical winter sock when you try them on and when you wear them. they do keep your feet insanely warm, so a thicker sock will actually make your feet uncomfortably hot. not all stores carry kids uggs. check the web or nordstroms. at nordstroms they are $85, at zappos they are $100.

/ October 1, 2011When I buy mine i go one size lower than i actually am (i take a size 10, i wear a size 9 UGG) but keep in mind when you try them on before you buy them, that they stretch out ALOT! If i were you i would go to the store and try on the size 6 and see how it feels, because brand new ones are a bit snug to start off.

/ October 7, 2011Try Marshall’s. I’m a size 5 and I always have a hard time finding shoes. Marshall’s has a clearane section that’s organized by size and they always have 5′s. Those are the easiest 5s to find, but some of their other shoes come in 5s too.

I want to buy some Uggs, but they are so expensive. I want the classic short kind in chocolate. In regular shoes, I vary between an 8-8 in a half in womens. I heard that Ugg Kids are cheaper and that they run two sizes big. Does that mean that I can get an Ugg kids size 6 even though I am an 8 in womens? It would save me money, but I dont know if the rumors are true?!?! HELP!!!!!!

/ October 21, 2011Yes, you should. I bought UGG boots at kids’ size 4, even though I’m a women’s size 5. And I believe that kids’ size 5 is a 6 or 7 in women’s. I suggest that you just go to a store that sells UGG boots and try their kids’ size 6.
