How to Promote your Web Site by Writing Articles

Sharing knowledge on the web can be a very powerful way to
establish your online presence and credibility. First, you write
a

thoughtful and informative article on an topic in your area of
expertise. Then you submit it to e-zines to be read by the

general public and possibly re-published on other web sites.

Appended to the end of your article is a resource box containing
a brief promotional message linking to your web site.

Webmasters who wish to reprint your article on their sites are
required to include your resource box along with any live

links to your site.

For example, an article written by me might have the following
resource box:

Article by winson , the webmaster of
Lucky Search , a great serch
engine for people

searching more exact results. Please visit his site to try.

The benefit that you get from your article is two-fold. First,
your article will be read by visitors to the e-zine site. If

they find it helpful and interesting, they will likely visit
your web site to see what else you had to offer. Second,

webmasters who find your article useful to their visitors may
re-publish it on their sites, giving your article additional

exposure.

Every time your article is re-published on a web site, you gain
an additional one-way link to your site through the live link

in your resource box. This adds to your link popularity and
ultimately increases your search engine rankings. As you can
see,

the true potential of your article lies in its ability to
propagate virally in cyberspace.

For your article to propagate virally, it should appeal to both
readers and webmasters alike. Keep in mind that your goal is

hold your readers’ attention long enough for them to get to the
resource box. If your article is boring and uninformative,

few people will read it beyond the first or second paragraph.

Below are some pointers to consider when writing an article:

1. Give your article a catchy title.

Your title is the first and often the only thing that visitors
see when they skim through a list of articles on an e-zine

page. Put some thought into coming up with a title that grabs
the reader’s attention right away. Words like “Secrets”,

“Free”, and “Successful” tend to attract more attention than
others.

2. Your article should not read like an ad.

Most people read articles to find information they can use, not
to see a pitch about your products or services. If they see

your article as nothing more than a shameless act of self
promotion, they’ll get turned off and hit the “Back” button
right

away. Put yourself in the reader’s shoes. What benefits do you
want to get out of reading an article? Cater to your reader’s

interests rather than your own.

3. Offer lots of free, useful information.

Following on the last tip, keep in mind that your readers are
looking for specific “how-to” instructions to help them achieve

a certain goal. Offer lots of tangible information that is
immediately useful to them. Do not lead them through hoops just
to

get to an order form for a $29.95 “Make $50,000 in 30 Days or
Your Money Back!” e-book.

4) Avoid gimmicks.

While it may be true that a sucker is born every minute, most
internet users are sophisticated enough to tell what’s

legitimate and what’s not. Write with the intention of offering
something substantial to the reader. Be honest and

forthright. Your article should not cause the reader to think,
“What is this guy trying to sell me?”

5) Be succinct.

Get to the point quickly, preferably in the first or second
paragraph. Avoid lengthy paragraphs. Use lots of white space to

separate your paragraphs to make them easier to read.

6) Your article should not be too short.

Certainly, it’s possible to write a good article packed with
useful information using just a few hundred words. If your

article is too short, however, some webmasters may feel hesitant
to reprint it on their sites. They may, instead, borrow your

ideas and write their own article, gaining authorship without
having to give you credit for your ideas.

How long should your article be? I suggest at least 800 words,
preferably longer. Longer articles give webmasters the

impression that you have put some thought and effort into your
work and, thus, are deserving of publicity on their sites.

7) Use live (clickable) links in your resource box.

Many e-zines permit clickable links in resource boxes. Yet, many
authors forgo this privilege by simply spelling out their

URLs. Whenever permitted, you should spell out your URL as well
as make it clickable (e.g. http://www.ppcchina.com). The

advantages of a clickable URL are (1) readers can go to your
site simply by clicking on it, and (2) more importantly, search

engines will be able to record it as a link your web site,
adding to your link popularity and search engine rankings.

Avoid hyping in your resource box.

Your resource box, while promotional in nature, should be brief
and tasteful. The purpose of your resource box is not to sell

your readers something, but to lead them to your website which
does the actual selling. Your resource box should contain your

name, your company name, a brief description of your products or
services, your web site’s URL, and a clickable link to your

site.

9) Put some thought and effort into your writing.

E-zines have varying standards for accepting articles, and some
accept and publish all submissions without any human review

at all. However, this does not mean you should write an article
just for sake of having it published somewhere. If your

article comes off as half-baked, readers may make a similar
assumption about you and your business practices.

10) Submit your article to as many e-zines as feasible.

There are dozens of e-zines on the web that welcome submissions
from independent authors. Ideally, you’d want your article to

be exposed on as many of them as you can. But it takes time to
register and submit to each one of them. Therefore, I

recommend that you submit to only a handful of the more popular
ones.

Below is a list of e-zines along with their Google PageRanks
(PR). The higher the PR of an e-zine, the greater its online

visibility.

A Dozen Great Search Engine Placement Tips

To be noticed or successful in the World Wide Web one needs to apply sound business sense and practices. When a surfer uses a search engine to find information he will get what he needs within the first 7-10 results displayed. This means that sites that are ranked higher than 10 are hardly ever noticed. Most of the traffic is enjoyed by those who rank within the “top ten.”

Here are a few pointers that may get you a ranking within 1-10:

Use relevant target key words for your pages. Ensure that the key words are more than two words long. Put yourself in the shoes of the surfer and list what the likely search terms will be which are relevant to the content.

Use keywords frequently through the page but with relevance. Higher placements are recommended. Ensure that target keywords are placed in the HTML title tag. Include target words in the titles. Write titles that capture interest and attention. These are what appear in search engine listings and only if they convey the content of the pages clearly will a user access the web page.

Every page must have a title tag, Meta keywords tag, and Meta description tag.

Use text navigation with great thought. It is advantageous to use keyword phrases as links. If text navigation is not possible then try and include footer on every page.

Avoid search engine stumbling blocks like image maps or frames. Construct your pages such that any search engine, old or new can read the pages. Create static pages and avoid symbols in the URLs.

Link analysis is used by important search engines in ranking algorithms. So, it is crucial to build solid links. Ensure that the links are relevant to your web content. Think quality not quantity. The secret is in approaching sites that are non-competitive and are ranked high by search engines.

Avoid spamming. It can get you banned. Fight the battle for supremacy by ethical means. Just ensure that your content is relevant and interesting, layout simple, and titles attractive and teasing.

To maximize efficiency submit more than one page manually. Make sure the pages are good representations of your site and its content.

Avoid automated programs for submission of pages. Submit manually and pay attention to any problems reported.

Prepare your goals with thought and care. Use a designer who is aware of online architectural design principles. Synchronize content, design, and navigation. Make it user and search engine friendly.

If you are in a hurry to get your website ranked then consider the option of using search engine marketing programs like PPC. In this case traffic is generated within days.

Use a link analysis report which will consider your competitors plan of action and prepare a recommendation report for you that is exclusive to your business module.

Search engine placement is the corner stone to success. It will not just ensure a good ranking but substantial increase in traffic and optimal business returns. As an astute business person or avid cyber techie you need to view the site in a rounded way and consider not just aspects of content and design but marketing strategies and cost effectiveness.

How To Be Lucky

Have you ever read an article about somebody who was successful because they were born into wealth or they were at the right place at the right time? A Greek shipping tycoon that is worth billions and started with millions from his father? A couple of guys that were able to create an internet business because they hit it big when they cashed their stock options from Microsoft?

You might have thought, “Well, that’s great, but they were lucky, I’d be successful if I was in their shoes.” So you weren’t as lucky. Maybe you worked for a company that never made it big during the rah rah 90’s. Or maybe, your lineage didn’t include the Rockefellers or Vanderbilts. So what. It’s time that you created your own luck.

If you think there is no way you’ll get that lucky, you’re right. But if you think you’re going to get lucky someday, you’re right as well.

Luck isn’t the same for everybody. Sometimes your luck might be that you come up with an idea because you saw a news segment on TV. Or you happen to find somebody willing to loan you $1,000 to get you started. Luck is varying and different for everybody, what you do with it is your choice.

How can you make your own luck? First, you have to realize that you’re going to have to work for it. Second, make sure you know that LUCK it isn’t always what you think it’s going to be. Here are some pointers:

* Talk to everyone. Luck sometimes means having connections. Even though a direct connection might not have what you need, they might know someone who does.

* Read everything. Do you like to read personal development books? How about business magazines? or industry periodicals? If you see something that interests you, you might be able to spin an interesting idea into a full-blown business.

* Go after your dreams, don’t wait for them to come to you. If you are literally waiting for someone to come to you and say, “I’ve got a million dollars I want to invest with you because I like you,” you’re going to be waiting a long time. But, if you’re proactive, you might get an opportunity you didn’t think might happen.

* Life changes on a dime. Have you ever had a really bad day and suddenly something happens to turn it into a great day? That happens in business all the time (and vice versa too), this might sound trite, but every bad day will be followed up someday with a good one.

* Keep a positive attitude. The old expression goes that you attract what you put out. If you’re negative and not fun to be around, nobody will want to help you, but if you’re generally positive and have a great outlook on life, people will want to be around you. And those who can will be more likely to help you.

I get approached with business ideas, great products and even tips that could be tremendous. Most are not, but because I keep myself “out there” and let people know what I do, I increase my ‘luck factor’.

No, I can’t guarantee that your luck will translate into millions, nor can I say that you will become amazingly successful, but what I can promise you is that sitting at home doing nothing, wishing you were more fortunate doesn’t make it happen.

Go get some luck.

Accident Claim Starting Tips

Many people will make an accident claim after being the victims of accidents that were provoked by others. The good news is that they can choose between a large variety of companies that deal with such things. Their employees will give you tips and advice about practically anything, from road accidents to work accidents, free of charge. This article though will show you a few pointers to get started with.

ROAD ACCIDENTS

Road accidents happen very often as you well know. Even if nowadays they make cars safer by the year, psychologically that means for many drivers that they can relax more at the steering wheel and they start ignoring the essential safety precautions. That is a big mistake. When an accident happens, often drivers cast the blame on one another. You can only claim your car accident compensation when you are absolutely certain that the accident was not your fault. It is recommended that at the scene you write down as much information as you can, paying special attention to details. I am talking about addresses, phone numbers, license plates etc. And don’t forget about the people who have witnessed the accident. If you can, try also to take some pictures, they usually are of great help.

You can make a claim for many things, but for starters concentrate on the injuries you have sustained. No matter if it’s just a scratch or a dangerous whiplash, you can make a claim. But know that the amount of compensation depends on how serious the injury is. The second type of compensation you can get if for damaged goods (car damage or ruined stuff that you had in the car). Also, the bills for medical treatment can be refunded. If there are consequences that will affect you in your post-accident life, those can be compensated too, although they are a bit hard to predict their real influence in the future.

The pedestrian accident and the motorbike accident fall under this same category, the road accident. The basic principles are the same.

ACCIDENTS AT WORK

If you have an accident at work and it’s your employer’s fault then you should make an accident at work claim. The reasons why there accidents happen are many and varied. Take for instance the case of equipment provided by the employer that doesn’t follow the safety standards. If you have an accident because your equipment was not suitable for your task, then be sure you can get compensated. The environment you work in also has its importance. Without the proper lighting, heating and ventilation you can suffer a series of accidents.

In some work fields it is of the outmost importance for the employees to be provided with proper training. You need be certain that the person who is working beside you knows what he’s doing, especially in potentially dangerous environments. Sure, some accidents can never be predicted, but others can be avoided if you have the necessary awareness. For that, your employers must do everything in their power to protect you from anything that can go wrong.

If the employer doesn’t respect the conditions stated above and you one day become the victim of an accident at the place where you work, you can request compensation from your employers. Sure, there is the possibility that your boss would get mad at you if you do it, but think also at the lives you may be saving in the future. The opinions of your colleagues about this kind of action will be varied, but it’s really not that important if you keep in mind that your real friends will be with you no matter what happens. Ignore the ones who blame you, because they are really not in your shoes. They wouldn’t care if you have suffered injuries that will affect the rest of your life, they just like to gossip. And if the case is so serious, your problems could be far greater than anyone could think of.

Do any of these types of accidents sound familiar to you? If so, contact a good attorney who is specialized in these kinds of unfortunate events. He will arrange all the legal procedures for you while you are dealing with your injuries. It may take long, but it will probably be worth your while.

Claim your compensation for the damage one or more of your properties, possible injuries and their consequences in the future, medical bills etc. This does not always mean you have to go to Court, because most of these cases are resolved with a settlement between the two parties. But if you are involved in an accident that really wasn’t your fault, don’t hesitate a moment and get your accident claim!

Accidents are all too common in these days, whether they are car accidents, motor accidents, pedestrian accidents or accidents at work. If you are one of the victims of an accident, you should make an accident claim.

3 Powerful Shyness Tips

If you have seen shows on the Animal Planet or the National Geographic channel showing the behavior of a doe or other animals when they veer away from human contact, this is how shyness is defined in animals. Shyness with humans is basically depicted the same way, and it occurs when there is a feeling of fear, embarrassment or uncertainty when speaking with or facing other people.

There are several causes, levels and ways of dealing with shyness. This quality, which is not always beneficial to an individual, can lead to a lot of missed social and professional opportunities if it is not overcome. Thus, if you are the ’shy type’ and you feel that you are not getting the most out of life because of this aspect of your personality, you need to take steps in overcoming shyness. Take a look at the following shyness tips and some pointers on how to overcome shyness:

1. Just like any other type of fear, the first step in overcoming shyness is to recognize the problem and proactively decide to do something about it.

Shyness is a type of fear in the sense that you are afraid of doing or saying something that other people may misinterpret or laugh at. There are various aspects and causes of shyness depending on each individual. For others, shyness may be a simple fear or insecurity of being embarrassed in front of other people. For some, shyness may be an extreme condition which can cause discomfort to the individual and to other people as well.

Sometimes, extreme shyness may cause nervousness, palpitation, blushing, slurring in speech and a visible agitation in a person’s mannerisms. Just like any other fear, you can only manage to overcome shyness if you recognize the problem and the way that it is limiting your social and professional life. The next step, of course, is decide to confront shyness, meet the problem head-on and decide to do something about it.

2. Grab each opportunity to be with people and try to have a casual conversation to ‘practice’.

Shyness can easily be a state of mind. Your insecurities and fears are the two major factors that play part in the way that you think others will perceive you. If you do not go out there and at least try to overcome your shyness, you will never be comfortable when in the company of other people. Even a simple matter of asking for directions or explaining what you need can be hindered by shyness. Thus, you need to grab each opportunity to be with people and have a go at practicing your mingling and conversational skills.

If you get invited to a party or a gathering, go out and have fun. Do not let your insecurities get the better of you and think of it as a chance to overcome your shyness. Practice your conversational skills by making small talk with the people that you often encounter at work or in the neighborhood. This way, you can slowly but surely climb your way towards overcoming your shyness.

3. To make yourself feel comfortable when in the company of others, try to think of ways on how to make them feel comfortable in return.

Putting yourself in another person’s shoes is a great way of keeping a balanced view of any situation. If you are the shy party in a mutual conversation, think of how you will look like in the view of the person that you are speaking with. If you look comfortable or agitated during the conversation, wouldn’t you feel sorry or uncomfortable yourself? On the other hand, if you try to look comfortable and manage to relax yourself by trying to make small talk when in the company of others – you can at least make them feel good enough to have a casual conversation with you.

By keeping in mind these three easy-to-follow shyness tips, you can be on your way towards overcoming shyness and enhance your social and professional relationship with other people.

Just for Men…and the Women Who Love Them: How Men Can Communicate More Effectively

Q: My wife complains that I don’t talk to her enough. I really want to make her happy, so I’ve been trying to talk more. Sometimes this works and we have great conversations. But other times, when I try to give her advice, she ends up frustrated with me and I end up with my foot in my mouth. Any suggestions?

A: Great question! The differences between how men and women communicate present real challenges. Understanding the unique challenges men face can help you (and your spouse) become the kind of partner you’re working toward. Here are some pointers that can help you achieve your goals:

Learn to listen; Listen to learn

To be a good communicator, you need to be a good listener. This may sound obvious, but it’s easier said than done. The only way to become a better listener is to discover what your partner needs from you. To do this you must find out what your wife needs by asking your wife. This simple step is overlooked by so many men. Don’t assume you know what your partner needs and don’t assume she needs what you need. This is where men get themselves into hot water.

Many men report that they have the most difficulty when their wives say “I just need you to listen.” Here’s an example of two wives who need their husbands’ support. These women both want their husbands to listen to the events of their workdays. See if you can tell what’s different about the men’s reactions.

Carol: You won’t believe the day I had at the office! I was on overdrive all day and just before I’m ready to leave, Lorna has the nerve to dump twenty pages of notes in front of me and says she needs them organized into a letter before I go.

Tim: Geez, I hope you didn’t do it! You’re always letting her take advantage of you. We need to work on getting you a backbone. Tell her that you have a kid you have to pick up from daycare. And if that doesn’t do it, go over her head and tell management.

Versus:

Paige: I am bone-tired! Ella’s out all week, and I did the work of three people before lunch even, and then Matt assigned me a huge project at the end of the day. And of course, as usual, he needed it yesterday.

Jonas: How frustrating! Boy, he’s never been sympathetic to your schedule. No wonder you’re exhausted. What did you tell him?

In both of these responses, the husbands feel protective of their wives and frustrated that the women had such a rough day. But notice that Tim immediately moves into problem-solving mode and tells Carol what to do. She did not ask Tim how he would handle the issue. Therefore, his reaction assumes she didn’t know how to deal with the situation on her own and his response also assumes that this is what Carol needed from Tim. As you can see, Carol was just venting, and what she was looking for in that moment was a sympathetic ear, not a Mr. Fix-it.

In the second response, Jonas shows that he understands Paige’s frustration. This is an empathic response rather than a problem-solving response. He also asks a question, which demonstrates active listening and shows that he is interested in what happened.

When your wife wants you to “just listen,” in essence she is saying that she wants you to understand what she is going through.

(Ladies, pay attention…)

Why men screw this up:

The main reasons men have difficulty listening to their wives:

~ They feel protective of their wives.

~ They hate feeling helpless and inadequate.

Neither of these reasons is inherently bad, but when combined, they prevent you from giving your wife what she needs. Here’s what happens: Your wife comes to you with a problem or a dilemma. It doesn’t take a master of intuition to determine that your wife is in distress. The distress you witness causes you to feel helpless and tense (vicarious helplessness). You leap out of empathic mode (where you just listen and try to put yourself in her shoes) and leap into protective, problem-solving mode. Your wife then feels frustrated and belittled. The communication process has broken down.

Solution:

Many men misperceive the role of listener as a passive activity with little value. This is a dangerous mindset that often prevents men from giving their wives what they need. Challenge this mindset, because it only stands in the way of a fulfilling, intimate union.

If you communicate an understanding of your wife’s experience and this is what she needs, then you’ve helped her. Helping your wife in this way is not a passive activity! Continuously remind yourself that whenever you make your wife feel better (through empathic listening), you’ve been active. You need to practice and get used to communicating in this way. Before you know it, empathic listening will become second nature.

Remember: the best person to determine what your wife needs is your wife. And the antidote to feeling like an inadequate husband is to give your wife what she needs. Write this on a Post-it note and read it every day.

Postcard Printing and Getting Quick, Profitable Responses

Postcards have undoubtedly become a valuable marketing tool for businesses – postcard printing and design for campaigns are simple, reasonably affordable, and effective. Postcard printing can only bring about a positive outcome with customers lining up and calling.

Create a rush of traffic to your website, establishment and the likes. Postcard printing is one of the many effective print materials you can use, especially if you plan to launch a direct mail campaign.

Marketing postcard design can increase maximum response to your sales promotion or subscriptions at the lowest cost imaginable. With today’s technology and the capacity and efficiency of today’s printers, you can print postcards effectively.

Observe these following pointers on postcard printing and marketing. Know how you can draw your market towards you and your desired goals using some of these:

• First, prospects should not only be determined, they should also be located – so focusing on the mailing list is the most important key

Postcards may be sent to customers to keep them informed of your updates and promos. This serves as a great motivation for them.

Your target market, other from clients, can be sourced out from non-competing businesses who have interests or needs aligned to your business or products.

• The postcard design must look like a personal message from a friend at first glance instead of like a direct advertising project.

This definitely boosts your prospects’ response since many produce negative responses to unsolicited mail. A postcard design that contains and looks like a warm, friendly message produces pleasant emotional reactions from readers. This makes your audience more accommodating that they’ll linger on reading your offer.

• Sales pitch usually fails because of its hard sell nature. There are lots of ways to communicate to your clients. Start by answering their needs, their demands, what they are looking for. There’s always a difference between what you know about your product and what they are looking for.

Communicate to your customers by placing yourself in their shoes.

• Postcards are designed to be read the moment the hands get unto it. At that point you should go for the kill and take advantage of this feature; use your postcard design to instantly grab the reader’s attention and interest. Difficult postcards will just be turned down so the entire message and postcard design must be brief and easy to grasp.

• Brevity is Your Friend.

Limit what you want to say. This makes your customers more focused on the agenda. The postcard design should contain only the major customer benefit/s your campaign promotes.

The remaining space should be used to motivate readers to ask for more information such as website addresses. Disclosures too should be put in at this point.

• Postcard design, though is ideally elegant, need not be expensive. Do not overdo your layout design and try to get in as many colors to spark some attention. What you truly need is quality printing that can bring out the vibrancy of your print designs.

Postcard printing or postcards for that matter can be your goldmine. Use the full promotional effects of postcard by knowing just where to enhance its best features. Turn your marketing and advertising campaign around. And never forsake quality and use the services of a professional printing quality for impressive postcards that perform.

Presenting in Public: Ten Golden Rules

“The human brain starts working the moment you are born and never stops until you stand up to speak in public.”

When Sir George Jessel uttered these words, he touched not only on a great truth, but on why so many of us fear presentations. The ability to present and speak in public is not always inherent but presentation skills can be learnt.

Below are ten useful pointers to put into practice to ensure you speak with confidence, clarity and impact the next time you present.

Dealing with Nerves

Nerves are good. Without nerves, you have no chance of performing to your potential. Yet as we all know, uncontrolled nerves can make the difference between polished fluency and scratchy inadequacy.

The key lies in control. Nerves need to be replaced by confidence – this can mean visualising your goal. Motivate yourself with the image of a confident and competent performer. “It’s all in the mind” is truer than we imagine. Persuade yourself that you are a good speaker and your presentation skills will improve.

Put Yourself in the Audience’s Shoes

It’s important to resist the temptation to convey all you know about a subject. Enhance your presentation skills by approaching your subject from your audience’s point of view and what they want to hear. Refer to their concerns and give examples pertinent to their lives. Don’t run through a series of features – explain the benefits which they can derive from a course of action. Talk in the audience’s language, avoiding the barriers created by jargon.

Keep it Simple

The purpose of a presentation is to put across key messages, convince your audience of your competence and generate enthusiasm to take the next step. Garnish your presentation with examples, anecdotes, repetition and references to the audience’s own experiences so that facts have sufficient time and supporting evidence to be remembered.

SignPosts

You know where you are in your presentation. But unless you clarify your position and progress to your audience, they will have no idea. You will lose them. Competent presenters will always explain what they are going to cover – and how. Then they cover it, reminding you regularly of where they are in the narrative. If you lose the thread, they weave you back into the story at regular points. And finally, they reiterate what has been said, so that key messages reverberate as you leave.

Words That Win Support

Persuasion is the object of every presentation. Your choice of words is crucial in achieving this. One of the most powerful words at your disposal is ‘you’. It’s astonishing the difference that arises between a passive statement of fact and its active personalisation. Peppering your presentation with ‘you’ and ‘we’ is inclusive and empathetic.

Visual Aids that Add Value

Visual aids should do just that: help the audience visually. They are there to reinforce your message, provide cues for your presentation and in some instances make points with greater impact than words could achieve. What they must not do is take over.

Visual Impact

You can enhance your presentation skills by improving some of the fundamentals of presenting – good eye contact, natural hand gestures, a relaxed stance and an open manner. By doing this you will stand a much better chance of impressing and grabbing the attention of your audience.

Vocal Impression

Making the best use of your voice is as important as visual impact. In a good speaker you will hear modulation and control. They use pauses effectively as a means to bring the audience’s attention level back. The voice is a flexible and powerful tool. Try to vary your tone as often as possible to add emphasis to what

you say.

How To Answer Questions

Perhaps second only to the fear of drying up in a presentation is the fear of questions. Yet there are no impossible questions. If you know your subject, you will be able to respond to all sensible queries.

If you don’t know the answer, admit it candidly and calmly. Never guess, never waffle.

Practise, then Practise More

The more time you spend on preparation, practice and developing your presentation skills, the more likely you are to give visual impact and vocal impression their due.

You can never prepare too much and the effects of doing too little will always be evident to your audience. The more effort you put into the preparation stage the more confident you will be in the delivery.

Beauty Musts For Summer Vacation

For some people, vacation time is one and the same as summer. Summer vacation time is a time to frolic in the beach; to make the most of enjoying the sand, sea and sun and; to flaunt those gorgeous bikini ready bodies that have been hidden in shirts, jeans and sweaters during the cold or chilly seasons of the year. But before you let your hair down and be a happy-go-lucky summer fool, you must know that summer can also be hazardous for your hair, skin and all other things that you have carefully nurtured for. Here are a few summer beauty pointers that you might consider to make sure that you maintain that grace under the sun’s pressure.

First stop is to protect your hair. Repeated exposure to sunshine and to saltwater if you are often hanging in the beach will definitely do some damage to your lovely mane. It could leave it dry, dusty and worst fried, especially if your hair has gone through a number of chemical processes like hair straightening and hair coloring. Your best bet is to wear a good old dependable hat. You can choose from a myriad of styles — a cap, a straw hat or a bucket one; whatever suits your taste as long it does the job of protecting your hair. There is also hair sunscreen available in the market now. You may want to apply some on your tresses before you step into the sun.

During summer, the spotlight is usually on your skin. Considering that you will mostly be sporting bikinis and shorts, the sun would definitely have its time beaming its rays on your revealed skins. A number of people go ahead and bask in the sun only thinking of getting that perfect tan. Before you do, make sure that your skin is protected. Having a tan may be cool but sunburns are definitely not. Protect your skin with a quality non-greasy sunscreen beforehand and remember to reapply after every two hours. It is also recommended that you put some on right after you swim and perspire to keep your skin shielded from the sun’s harmful rays. As for that tan, there are creams that may help you achieve that desired color without having to spend so much time lying under the sun. These creams can also keep the moisture in your skin.

And last but not the least do not forget about your feet. There is no place for your toe-barring heels, closed formal shoes or sandals in the beach. Flip-flops and bare feet rule. As your toes will be as naked as your bikini laden bodies, it is imperative that they should look good. Walking in flip-flops or in bare feet can make your soles rough and coarse. To revive their smoothness, treat them to a thorough and scrupulous scrubbing when you are taking a shower. Lathering on a rich moisturizer afterwards would make them supple. And remember to keep your nails fresh and neat. You can opt to show them off with a neutral polish or go wild and go for bright colors.
